Notes from An Alien

Self-Publishing Is Enabling A Tsunami of New Authors ~ Will The World Last Long Enough for Them To Be Read Widely?

Technology is favoring the writer

Technology is furthering hate and killing

Just before my short-novel, Notes from An Alien, was published, I wrote a post called, Why People Won’t Like My Book And Why They Might Want To Consider Reading It…

In that post, I said:

“…I went into this project with clear eyes about what most of the reading public wants and what I felt I had to offer them.

“Let me be painfully clear:

“Our world is in grave peril.

“People are regularly being lied to and manipulated by the powers that be.

“The powers that be have no rational solutions for the multiple, global crises humanity is suffering through. They, essentially, couldn’t care less

“Most folks who love to read just want something to help them ignore the intense pressures of daily living and escape to worlds that entertain or “safely” thrill.”

Yet, I know there are folks who are attracted to my book—over 250 have taken advantage of my willingness to let people get a free copy of Notes from An Alien. A smaller number have purchased the book

Given time and a major effort on my part, the book may reach enough people who respond to the story and proceed to attempt a transformation in their own lives that facilitates a change in their family that resonates with their neighborhood that affects their town that influences their country and makes the path to a culture of peace less imposing

That is my hope

Is there time?

Will enough people care?

Publishing my book led to my facilitating discussions on the path toward peace on Book Island in the virtual world Second Life. Those discussions are on-going and have spawned a blog, Global Peace Chat.

I’m currently preparing to write a follow-up book, Stories from Angi—a collection of 19 short stories, synchronized to the time-frame of the 19 chapters of Notes from An Alien and written at a deeper level of intimate story-telling—my effort to move hearts even further toward peaceful evolution

Once that book is published, I’ll be working toward the last book in the series, Poetry for Angi—19 “epic” poems, synchronized with the short stories and chapters of the other books

I pray I have time to finish my Task

I pray I maintain the energy and drive to promote the books

I pray they receive due attention and help, even but a little, to ease our World’s suffering as it approaches Its Maturity—Lasting Global Peace and Tranquility

Am I a Dreamer?

Absolutely :-)
